Directions

"Windows on the Past" is a six meter high steel structure. The windows depict what took place on the Ginkel Heath in 1944. The parachutist in the middle panel is life-size. In the background the droppings of manpower and equipment can be seen. Windows on the Past by designer Karin Colen was chosen as the winning design for a "landmark" on the Ginkel Heath. On September 18, 2019, a few days before the Airborne commemoration of 75 years of Operation Market Garden, the landmark was unveiled. At the foot of the landmark, more information about Operation Market Garden can be found in both Dutch and English.
