This museum, inaugurated on 12 May 2019 on the 75th ͦ anniversary of the liberation, is the result of an ambitious project that was strongly desired by President Giuseppe Caucci, who personally oversaw its design and implementation together with some of his closest collaborators, in order to make the results of the research work carried out over the years accessible, completely free of charge.

Castelforte, nicknamed 'Little Cassino' was almost totally wiped out by the contending armies, and was awarded the Gold Medal of Civil Valour. All the exhibits and artefacts on display, which come from the private collections of some members and donations, stem from years of work and research on battlefields and in documentary archives.
