This cycle route connects special places related to the air war that took place over Dalfsen and the surrounding area. Around 13 aircraft crashed here between 1942 and 1945. Some of the crew managed to reach safety and survive the war, while others were less fortunate and died in the crashes. Some of the fallen were laid to rest in the Allied Court of Honour at Dalfsen General Cemetery.

The route can be started at any point. There are also a number of shortcuts that allow you to cycle just part of the 75km route. A good place to start if you want to cycle the whole route is the village of Hoonhorst, where you can cycle past 12 crashed aircraft, each with their own story. The final stop is Dalfsen Cemetery, where you can pay tribute to those who gave their lives in the fight for our freedom.
