This route comes across monuments and Holocaust memorials and tells the stories of Jewish communities as well as resistance fighters who fought for their communities during the war. From Lower-Saxony to Drenthe, this cycling route crosses the Bergen Belsen Memorial, reaches Bremen, and passes the former Esterwegen-Papenburg concentration camp. Then, crosses the Dutch border in the province of Groningen, ending up in the Westerbork Memorial, in the forests of the province of Drenthe.
